We have officially reached the second round/Elite Eight level of our Miami Dolphins 2000s Draft versus Draft tournament. We completed the first round with a nearly chalk result, with the top three seeds on both sides of the bracket advancing and the fourth seed on the orange side making it through, while the only upset came on the aqua side, where the fifth seed, the 2007 Draft, beat the fourth seeded 2013 Draft.

Today's Draft contest will kick off the second round, with that fifth seeded 2007 Draft facing off against the aqua's top-seeded 2010 Draft. The 2010 Draft, which included players like Jared Odrick, Koa Misi, and Reshad Jones, beat the 2006 Draft, which was headlined by Jason Allen, by a 98-percent to 2-percent score. The 2007 Draft, which started off with players like Ted Ginn and John Beck but did include solid starters and Pro Bowlers later in the selections with names like Samson Satele, Paul Soliai, and Brandon Fields, upset the 2013 Draft, which started with the trade-up for Dion Jordan, then included Jamar Taylor, Dallas Thomas, Jelani Jenkins, and Dion Sims, by a 63-percent to 37-percent score.

Each day over the next couple of weeks, we will present a poll, where you can vote on which of the two drafts you think was better. We will then move the draft receiving the most votes on to the next round of the tournament, eventually crowning a champion draft for the Dolphins from the 2000s.

2010 Draft

The 2010 Draft featured several starters being added to the team, including Pro Bowl safety Reshad Jones in the fifth round. Jared Odrick became a staple at defensive tackle for the Dolphins and is now starting for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Koa Misi is the starting strong side linebacker for Miami, while John Jerry, who got caught up in the Bullygate saga, left Miami after the 2013 season and moved to the New York Giants. Nolan Carroll spent four years in Miami, working as a nickel cornerback for part of the time, then picking up 22 starts in his final two years with the team before signing with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2014. Reshad Jones headlines the Draft for Miami, earning his first Pro Bowl trip this past season as he became one of the top safeties in the league.
